Green Country, sometimes referred to as Northeast Oklahoma, is the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Oklahoma, which lies west of the northern half of Arkansas, the southwestern corner the way of Missouri, and south of Kansas.Essential Destinations

Tulsa

Tulsa calls itself the "Oil Capital of the World." Here, the age of the oil boom found its center. A small town by US standards, metropolitan luxuries such as theater, fine dining, nightlife, and shopping are found in a state known for sparsely populated farming communities.

Tahlequah

Tahlequah is a city in Cherokee County, Oklahoma located at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. It is part of the Green Country region of Oklahoma and was established as a capital of the 19th-century Cherokee Nation in 1839, as part of the new settlement in Indian Territory after the Cherokee Native Americans were forced west from the American Southeast on the Trail of Tears.

Muskogee

Muskogee is the 13th-largest city in Oklahoma and is the county seat of Muskogee County. It lies approximately 48 miles southeast of Tulsa. The population of the city was 36,878 as of the 2020 census, a 6.0% decrease from 39,223 in 2010.

Pawhuska is a city of 3,400 people in the Green Country region of Oklahoma. It is a good base for visiting the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve and its buffalo herds, plus it serves as the base for the Osage tribal government and is allegedly where the first Boy Scout troop started.

Wagoner is a city in the Green Country in Oklahoma. It was huge on the railroad scene with Henry Wagoner's helping hand, and the first city to be incorporated in Indian Territory, in 1896.

Pryor
Pryor Creek or Pryor is a city in and the county seat of Mayes County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 9,444 as of the 2020 census. Originally named Coo-Y-Yah, Cherokee for "place of the huckleberries", it was renamed "Pryor Creek" in 1887 after the local railroad station, which was named for the nearby creek.Owasso

Eufaula is a city in and the county seat of McIntosh County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 2,766 at the 2020 census. It is in the southern part of the county, north of McAlester and south of Muskogee.
Bixby

Bixby is a city in Tulsa and Wagoner counties in the U.S. state of Oklahoma; it is a suburb of Tulsa. Its population was 28,609 at the 2020 census and 20,884 in the 2010 census, an increase of 36.99 percent In 2010, Bixby became the 19th largest city in Oklahoma.
Jenks

Jenks is in the Green Country region of Oklahoma. Jenks' landscape is very similar to Tulsa's which is green with lots of trees and hills. It is right next to the Arkansas River, Riverparks, and it is near to many of the attractions in Tulsa.
