Far North Queensland
Far North Queensland, commonly abbreviated as FNQ, is a coastal region in the north of Queensland. Sometimes colloquially called Tropical North Queensland, you'll find nice warm 25-30°C sunny days year round, warm coastal waters, some of the world's oldest rainforests and a gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.Essential Destinations

Cairns

Cairns is touted as the "gateway to the Great Barrier Reef" and other destinations such as Kuranda and the Daintree Rainforest in Far North Queensland.
Torres Strait Islands

The Torres Strait Islands are a group of islands to the north of the Australian mainland, stretching nearly as far as Papua New Guinea. There are 14 inhabited islands, but only the two neighbouring islands of Thursday Island and Horn Island have developed visitor facilities.
Cooktown

Cooktown is a small coastal town in tropical north Queensland. In 1770 Captain James Cook landed on the banks of the Endeavour River repairing his ship Endeavour, after it ran aground on the Great Barrier Reef.

Innisfail

Innisfail is a regional town and locality in the Cassowary Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. The town was originally called Geraldton until 1910. In the 2021 census, the town of Innisfail had a population of 7,173 people, while the locality of Innisfail had a population of 1,091 people.
Ingham

Ingham might be a small town of just 4500 in Far North Queensland, but boasts a rather rich Italian heritage, many of whom migrated to Australia in the 20th century to help out with the region's sugar cane industry.
Kuranda

Kuranda is a small town in Far North Queensland adjoining the Barron Gorge National Park. It's only around half an hour to drive from Cairns, and the scenic trip by train or SkyRail makes an extremely popular day trip.
Cardwell

Normanton is a town in the Gulf Country in Queensland. It is the largest town in the region, and has a population of about 1,200 people. Normanton thrived as a port town in the late 1800s when the gold rush was on in Croydon.
Karumba

Karumba is the only place where there is sealed road access to the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is a prawning and fishing town, where you can watch the sun set over the gulf.
Hinchinbrook Island National Park

Georgetown
