Si Phan Don is a group of islands in the Mekong River in Southern Laos. The Four Thousand Islands have three main destinations for travellers：Don（Island) Khong is the biggest, but apart from the usual chill and look there's nothing great to do there.
Bolaven Plateau is in Southern Laos. Minimal English is spoken. Usually one fluent English speaker can be found at banks.
Champasak is a province of Southern Laos. It's best known for a series of Khmer ruins, collectively named a UNESCO World Heritage Site as the Champasak Cultural Landscape.
Ban Nakasang is a small riverside town in Southern Laos. It is one of the main stations for boat and bus services into and out of Don Det and Don Kon.
Khammuan is a province of Southern Laos between Vientiane and Savannakhet. Tha Khaek is the transport hub of the region, with bus service.
