is a municipality and the namesake town in Finnish Lapland. Internationally it is perhaps best known for its highly renowned Midnight Sun Film Festival.

The north-west Finnish Lapland, also known as Fell-Lapland includes the "arm" of Finland, with all the highest fells of Finland. Like the north-east, much of it belongs to the Sámi native region.

is the south-west corner of Finnish Lapland, featuring the coast and the border river to Sweden. The Arctic Circle crosses the region in southern Pello.

is a national park in Finnish Lapland. With an area of 2,550 km2 it is the second largest national park in Finland. It has good connections and services near , while the backcountry is popular among wilderness backpackers.
