Bijelo Polje is a town of 13,000 people in the north of Montenegro. It is the administrative, economic, cultural and educational centre of northern Montenegro.

Žabljak is a small town in northern Montenegro, and is the centre of Montenegro's winter tourism. The town of Žabljak and the whole municipality offer breathtaking mountain landscapes and plenty of opportunities for both winter and summer sports.

Plav is in the North Montenegrin Mountains and is in Eastern Montenegro. It is the centre of a municipality of the same name. It is mostly visited by hikers completing the Peaks of the Balkans hiking trail.

Gusinje is a small town in Montenegro in the northern region. According to the 2011 census, the town has a population of 1,673 and is the administrative center of Gusinje Municipality.
