Manchester

Manchester is a vibrant, post-industrial gem at the heart of North West England. The city that used to be nicknamed 'Cottonopolis' has hung up its clogs and, thanks to successive regeneration projects, is now a major centre for culture and commerce; seen by many as the capital of the north of England, and sometimes regarded as England's second city.

Liverpool is a big city in Merseyside, England famed for its football teams, the Grand National horse race, music, vibrant nightlife, and its links with the arts and culture.
Chester

Chester is a very pretty and historic English city on the river Dee, and the county town of the North-Western county of Cheshire. Although maybe not worth a whole holiday, it's well worth a day or overnight trip to see the Roman ruins and medieval city centre.

Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester is a metropolitan county and urban region in North West England. It was created in 1974 from the city and associated towns that had formerly been in Lancashire, plus a few lying south of the River Mersey that had been in Cheshire.

Cumbria is a county in the North West of England. Its most famous tourist attraction is the Lake District National Park.

Merseyside is a metropolitan county in the North West of England. It consists of the city of Liverpool and the boroughs of Knowsley, Sefton and St.Helens on the east of the River Mersey, and the borough of Wirral, which is part of the peninsula of the same name, on the west of the River Mersey.
