The Rhine Valley or Middle Rhine is the most famous section of the Rhine, running between the cities of Bingen and Bonn in Germany and spanning the states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse.

Rhenish Hesse is in Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. The land of the thousand hills, a large part of which is covered in vineyards, is defined to the north and east by the river Rhine and Hesse, to the west by the Nahe valley and to the south by the Donnersberg in the Palatinate.

The Moselle Valley is largely in Rhineland-Palatinate. The source of the Moselle river is in the Vosges mountains of French Alsace and it then flows north before reaching Germany at Perl and forming the border with Rhineland-Palatinate and Luxembourg.
