It was built by the British on top of Mellieħa Hill, to serve as a civil defence depot and an observation post. Fort Mellieħa is situated 770 metres northwest of Ix-Xagħra tal-Ħawlija.

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieħa is a Roman Catholic church in the village of Mellieħa in Malta. The sanctuary originated as a natural cave which was consecrated as a church at an unknown date, and local traditions link its establishment to antiquity or the medieval period. Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieħa is situated 1½ km northwest of Ix-Xagħra tal-Ħawlija.

Arrias Battery, also known as Xemxija Battery or Pwales Left Battery, is an artillery battery in Xemxija, limits of St. Paul's Bay, Malta. It was built by the Order of Saint John in 1715–1716 as one of a series of coastal fortifications around the Maltese Islands. Arrias Battery is situated 1 km east of Ix-Xagħra tal-Ħawlija.
