Oulu

Oulu is the biggest city in Northern Finland, with about 210,000 inhabitants. Once known for wood tar and salmon, Oulu has become a major high-tech centre, particularly in IT and wellness technology.
Raahe
Raahe is a city in the Oulu province, 74 km south of the city of Oulu. With 24,000 inhabitants in 2021, Raahe is the third largest town in the region. The town is strongly associated with the steel industry, through the huge Rautaruukki steel mill as well as Finnish rules baseball through the Pattijoki team.
Kalajoki
Kalajoki is a coastal town of 12,000 in the Western Oulu region in southern Northern Ostrobothnia. The town is best known for its kilometres-long sand dune area, the Hiekkasärkät, which has been developed as a holiday resort since the 1970s.

Hailuoto is a Finnish island in the northern Baltic Sea and a municipality in Northern Ostrobothnia region. The population of Hailuoto is 928, making it the smallest municipality in Northern Ostrobothnia and the former Oulu Province in terms of population.
Ii
Ii is a municipality in northern Finland, by the Bothnian Bay, at the mouth of river Iijoki. It belongs to the Northern Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 9,900 and covers an area of 2,809 km² of which 1,257 km² is water.

Liminka is a municipality in the Western Oulu region. It was founded in 1477 around the Liminganjoki river, and as of 2023, it has approximately 10,000 inhabitants. The municipalities of Lumijoki and Tyrnävä are also handled in this article.
