The Armash Important Bird Area is an area of wetland near the town of Armash, in Armenia, in the foothills of Mount Ararat. This location is on the border with Turkey, Iran and Nakhchivan. Armash Important Bird Area is situated 3 km west of Armash.

Surenavan is a village in the Ararat Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia. The village was renamed in 1946 in honor of Suren Spandaryan, a revolutionary. Surenavan is situated 4½ km northwest of Armash.

Heydarabad is a settlement and the capital of the Sadarak District of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. It borders Armenia and before the First Nagorno-Karabakh War had road and rail connections with the Armenian village of Yeraskh on the other side of the border. Heydarabad is situated 6 km southeast of Armash.
