Gorgopotamos
The Gorgopotamos is a river in the southern part of Phthiotis, Central Greece, Greece not far from the border with Phocis. The river is host to the Ellinopygosteos fish. According to ancient philosopher Herodotos, the river was called Dyras in ancient times.Photo: Capostolo, CC BY-SA 4.0.

Gorgopotamos is a village and a former municipality in Phthiotis, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lamia, of which it is a municipal unit. Gorgopotamos is situated 2½ km southwest of Gorgopotamos.
