Shendi is a town in western Ethiopia. Located in the Mirab Gojjam Zone of the Amhara Region at elevation of 2050 meters above sea level. In 1964 it was the administrative center of Wemberma and Gwagussa woreda. Shendi is situated 8 km northwest of Diblil.
