Gardene is a village in the Auri Parish of Dobele Municipality in the historical region of Semigallia, and the Zemgale Planning Region in Latvia. It is the site of a former Soviet military base. Gardene is situated 2½ km northeast of Mazbērze.

Dobele is a town in the Semigallia region of Latvia. It is located near the center of Latvia on the banks of the river Bērze. It received town rights in 1917 whilst being a part of the German occupied Courland Governorate during the First World War. Dobele is situated 6 km east of Mazbērze.
