Salo is a city of about 52,000 inhabitants in , perhaps best known for Nokia mobile phones. Much of the surrounding countryside, including Halikko, Kiikala, Kisko, Kuusjoki, Muurla, Perniö, Pertteli, , Särkisalo and Uskela, is nowadays incorporated into Salo.
