The Turceni Power Station is situated in Gorj County, on the banks of the Jiu River, halfway between the cities of Craiova and Târgu Jiu. It is Romania's largest electricity producer and one of the largest thermal power plants in Europe, having 4 units of 330 MW net each. Turceni Power Station is situated 3 km southeast of Turceni.
