Săpânța is a commune of 3,365 inhabitants situated in Maramureș County, Romania, 15 kilometers northwest of Sighetu Marmației at the northern foothills of the Gutâi Mountains and at the confluence of the Săpânța and Tisza rivers, less than one kilometer south of the border with Ukraine.

Teresva is a rural settlement in Tiachiv Raion of Zakarpattia Oblast in western Ukraine. It is situated at the confluence of the rivers Tisza and Teresva. The town's population was 7,554 at the 2001 Ukrainian Census. Current population is 7,480. Teresva is situated 6 km west of Câmpulung la Tisa.
