Gariep Dam, founded as "Oranjekrag", is a settlement in Xhariep District Municipality in the Free State of South Africa. Gariep Dam is a town on the northern bank of the Orange River, 50 km west of Bethulie and 48 km north-east of Colesberg. Gariep Dam is situated 2½ km east of Northbank.

Norvalspont is a small town in Pixley ka Seme District Municipality in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. The name is Afrikaans for Norval’s ferry, and named after an enterprising Scot who constructed a ferry here in 1848.
