De Rust is a small village at the gateway to the Klein Karoo, South Africa. The name is Dutch and literally translates to "The Rest", referring to the town's original purpose of being a resting place for settlers en route through the challenging terrain of a nearby Swartberg gorge. De Rust is situated 4½ km northeast of Delport.

Dysselsdorp is a small town that lies between Oudtshoorn and De Rust in the Little Karoo. It was founded as missionary station in 1838 for the emancipated slaves and dispossessed Khoekhoen who lived in the area. Dysselsdorp is situated 9 km southwest of Delport.
