Sonpur or Sonepur, also known as Subarnapur, is a temple town in western Odisha. Once a capital of a princely state, Sonpur is often called the twin of Varanasi for its cluster of architecturally significant temples, as well as the twin of Prayagraj for the confluence of the Mahanadi and Tel rivers.
