Bahrain, formerly known in Torwali as Bhaunal, is a town located in Swat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, 60 km north of Mingora at an elevation of 4,700 ft on the right bank of the Swat river. Bahrain is situated 5 km northeast of Alar.

The Swat Valley is a charming valley in the northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, which is a popular tour destination. During the visit of Queen Elizabeth II in the 1960s, she called it "Switzerland of the East". Madyan is situated 5 km southeast of Alar.
