Ekibastuz GRES-1 is a 4,000 MW coal-fired thermal power station at Ekibastusz, Kazakhstan. It is located by lake Zhyngyldy. The ashes of the station are dumped into nearby lake Karasor. Ekibastuz GRES-1 is situated 3 km north of Ozero Zhyngyldy.
