The Nanjing Museum is located in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu in East China. With an area of 70,000 square metres, it is one of the largest museums in China, with over 400,000 items in its permanent collection. NanJing Museum is situated 1½ km southwest of Mingliling.

The Ming Xiaoling is the mausoleum of the Hongwu Emperor, the founder of the Ming dynasty. It lies at the southern foot of Purple Mountain, located east of the historical centre of Nanjing. Ming Xiaoling is situated 1¼ km north of Mingliling.
