is a village and former commune of several hundred farmers in in eastern province, chiefly known for Mao Zedong's directive, "Learn from in agriculture", which set up as the model for agricultural production throughout China during the 1960s and 1970s, amid the Cultural Revolution. is situated 3½ km east of Hongshui.

Named after
村庄建在池塘的东面，一说原名横水村，昔阳当地方言白读“横”时与“洪”字同音，故后演变为洪水村。但讲名字源于池塘亦有些牵强，另有传说：古时候，东海龙王指派小白龙到太行山上降水造湖，小白龙在乐平（今昔阳）城西南一带降大雨形成湖泊，人们取名洪水。
