Hong Kong International Airport, also known as Chek Lap Kok Airport, is located just off Lantau Island in western Hong Kong. In 2018, it was the 8th busiest airport worldwide by passenger traffic.

Nei Lak Shan is the eighth highest mountain in Hong Kong. With a height of 751 m, it is situated on Lantau Island immediately north of Ngong Ping where the Buddhist Po Lin Monastery is located. Nei Lak Shan is situated 2½ km south of Sha Lo Wan.

The Big Buddha is a large bronze sculpture of Buddha, completed in 1993, and located at Ngong Ping, near Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. Tian Tan Buddha is situated 3½ km south of Sha Lo Wan.
