Makidō is one of many limestone caves located in the city of Niimi, in northwestern Okayama Prefecture, Japan. The cave is said to have been accidentally discovered by a hunter in the Edo Period. Makidō Cave is situated 4 km west of Shimoazae.

Hokubō Dam is a dam in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. It is located on the border between the cities of Maniwa and Niimi, and it is actually situated between the eastbound and westbound lanes of the Chūgoku Expressway. The dam was completed in 1980. Hokubō Dam is situated 3½ km northwest of Shimoazae.
