Higashimuro District is a rural district on the southeastern coast of , on the southern Peninsula of Honshū, . The district occupies an area of rugged coastline, steep mountains and deep river valleys; it contains several small towns and villages that are notable for their connection to the ancient Kumano pilgrimage routes, coastal fisheries, and forestry.
