Kanmon Bridge

The Kanmon Bridge is a suspension bridge crossing the Kanmon Straits, a stretch of water separating two of Japan's four main islands. On the Honshū side of the bridge is Shimonoseki and on the Kyūshū side is Kitakyushu, whose former city and present ward, Moji, gave the strait its mon. Kanmon Bridge is situated 4 km west of Chūō-suidō.

Hesaki Lighthouse

Hesaki Lighthouse is a lighthouse on the Kiku Peninsula in Moji-ku, Kitakyūshū in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It was constructed in December 1870; the lighthouse was lit on 22 January 1871.

Shimonoseki City Art Museum

Shimonoseki City Art Museum is a public museum that opened in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, in 1983. The collection of some 2,200 items includes works by Kanō Hōgai, Kishida Ryūsei, Matsumoto Shunsuke, Takashima Hokkai, Oka Shikanosuke, and Kazuki Yasuo, as well as a New Kingdom Egyptian shawabti and Late Period image of Horus in the guise of a falcon. Shimonoseki City Art Museum is situated 2½ km north of Chūō-suidō.

Shimonoseki is a city in Yamaguchi prefecture and the westernmost municipality on Honshu, home to a quarter million inhabitants. The city has been at the center of Japanese history for centuries, but it's best known to culinary daredevils as the home of fugu, a pufferfish as cute looking as it is potentially lethal.
