The Sakurai Kofun is the largest of a group of kofun burial mounds located in what is now the city of Minamisōma, in Fukushima Prefecture in the southern Tōhoku region of northern Japan. Sakurai Kofun is situated 3 km west of Niida Gawa.

The facility is located on the Pacific coast of Honshu north of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Haramachi power station is situated 3½ km north of Niida Gawa.
