Lake Rotokare is a landslide dammed lake in the New Zealand region of Taranaki. It is located 12 km east of Eltham, and is the largest extant remnant of the historic Ngaere swamp complex.

Eltham is a small inland town in South Taranaki, New Zealand, located 50 kilometres south of the city of New Plymouth and southeast of the volcanic cone of Mount Taranaki. Stratford is 11 kilometres north, Kaponga 13 km west, and Hāwera is 19 km south. Eltham is situated 10 km west of Rotokare.
