Pokuru is a rural community in the Waipā District and Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located southwest of Te Awamutu, southeast of Pirongia and north of Ōtorohanga, between State Highway 39 and State Highway 1. Pokuru is situated 6 km east of Puketotara.

Pirongia is a little village about 30 minutes drive south of Hamilton, in southern Waikato, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located at the base of Mount Pirongia. There is a little info centre in town that will give you hiking info and where to go.
