Taharoa is a small village on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand, to the southwest of Kawhia Harbour and overlooking Lake Taharoa. The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "long coast" for Tahāroa however traditional histories state that the extended name is “Te Tahaaroa a Ruaputahanga” or the “long calabash of Ruaputahanga”. Taharoa is situated 8 km west of Pakawharau.

Te Anga is a rural community in the Waitomo District and Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island. Marokopa River runs through the area. The river is not safe to swim in due to high rates of E. coli, but farmers have put in plans to reduce water pollution. Te Anga is situated 9 km south of Pakawharau.
