The Ida Valley lies east of the Manuherikia Valley in Central Otago, New Zealand. At an altitude of around 500 m, the 40 km long flat and wide valley is a relatively dry region with cold winters and hot summers, much like the rest of Central Otago. Ida Valley is situated 8 km southwest of Oturehua.
Wedderburn

Wedderburn is a community in Central Otago, New Zealand. Located 15 kilometres northwest of Ranfurly, it was once a centre for gold and coal mining. The name Wedderburn was given to the area by John Turnbull Thomson, and is one of the names in his Thomson's Barnyard. Wedderburn is situated 8 km east of Oturehua.
