Goose Bay is a small locality in New Zealand, located 15 kilometres southwest of Kaikōura. It is beside a bay that is also named Goose Bay. It was named in the mid-nineteenth century, either after geese that got away from a nearby whaling station or from a Kāinga that was ruined by Te Rauparaha. Goose Bay is situated 4½ km northeast of Oaro.
