The Mangawharariki River is a river of the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows northwest from the Ruahine Range to meet the Rangitikei River at Mangaweka.

Mangaweka is a township on State Highway One in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of the North Island of New Zealand. It is located between Taihape to the north and Hunterville to the south, has a population of just under 200. Mangaweka is situated 2½ km west of Mangawharariki Stream.
