Awutu Senya West District is one of the twenty-two districts in Central Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Awutu Senya District on 29 February 2008, until the eastern part of the district was split off to create Awutu Senya East District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Awutu Senya West District. Awutu Senya West is situated 3 km southeast of Chinankama.

Buduburam is a refugee camp located 44 kilometers west of Accra, Ghana. It is along the Accra-Cape Coast Highway. Opened by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in 1990, the camp is home to more than 12,000 refugees from Liberia who fled their country during the First Liberian Civil War and the Second Liberian Civil War. Buduburam is situated 6 km east of Chinankama.
