Yako is a town in northern Burkina Faso, the capital of Passoré Province. It lies 109 kilometres north-west of Ouagadougou. Yako is known for its large mosque and as the birthplace of former President Thomas Sankara. Yako is situated 8 km southwest of Zambélé.
