Rødby is a small town on Lolland, that is mainly known for its harbour Rødbyhavn, from where ferries go to Puttgarden in Germany, one of the most heavily trafficked ferry routes in Europe, with large ferries departing every 30 minutes nearly round the clock.

Holeby is located 6 kilometers north of the planned Lolland South railway station, set to open in 2028 on the line to Germany via the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link. Holeby is situated 4 km northeast of Søgård.
