Argir is a village in the Faroe Islands. Argir most likely takes its name from Old Irish airge, which means summer pasture; several placenames in Faroe carry the same name with this meaning. Argir is situated 7 km northwest of Neystanes.
Kirkjubøur

Kirkjubøur is the southernmost village on Streymoy. The village is the Faroes' most important historical site, with the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral from around 1300, Saint Olav's Church, from the 12th century and the old farmhouse of Kirkjubøargarður from the 11th century.
