Saurbæjarkirkja is a church in the Eyjafjörður region of Iceland. It is located about 26 kilometres south of Akureyri. Saurbæjarkirkja church has thick turf and stone walls on the outside for protection against the weather, and turf on the roof. Saurbæjarkirkja is situated 3½ km south of Árgerði.

Munkaþverá was a Benedictine monastery in Eyjafjörður, Iceland. It was established around 1155 and was abolished when the country became Protestant in 1550. Munkaþverá is situated 10 km northeast of Árgerði.
