The Schloss Fantaisie is a castle, situated 3.1 miles west of the city Bayreuth in the community Eckersdorf. The roots of this castle are in the medieval, but there is not much left from this time. Schloss Fantaisie is situated 2½ km south of Dörnhof.

The Bayreuth Medical Center is the teaching hospital of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and is the largest hospital in Upper Franconia, Bavaria. BMC was founded in 1938, and it is a maximum care hospital with 25 Clinics and Institutes and has the largest 24-hour Level I trauma Center in Upper Franconia. Bayreuth Medical Center is situated 2½ km southeast of Dörnhof.
