Bawnboy is a small village and townland in a valley at the foot of Slieve Rushen, between Ballyconnell and Swanlinbar, in County Cavan, Ireland. A synod of the Catholic Provincial Council of Armagh was held in Owengallees, Baunbuidhe, on 25 May 1669 where The Most Rev.

Belturbet is a small town on the River Erne in County Cavan, with a population in 2022 of about 1600. In Irish it's Béal Tairbirt, "mouth of the isthmus", and it grew up at a ford on the river. Boating and angling are the main reasons to visit. Ballyconnell is situated 7 km east of River Blackwater.
