The village is known for its traditional Andorran buildings and Romanesque church, as well as the historic Llorts mine located nearby. Llorts is situated 3 km southeast of Pleta de l’Angonella.

It is situated on the right bank of the Valira del Nord river, between Llorts and La Cortinada, and next to the CG-3 road leading to the Ordino Arcalís ski resort and Sorteny National Park, the largest nature area of Andorra. Arans is situated 3½ km southeast of Pleta de l’Angonella.
