Zalakaros is a town of 1,800 people in Lake Balaton region. Zalakaros is famous for its thermal spring bath. For children, it also has a waterpark. It gained its fame in 1962, when prospective oil drilling struck a nearly 96 °C source at a depth of 2,000 m.
