Lidice

Lidice is a municipality and village in in the of the . It has about 600 inhabitants. Lidice is built near the site of the previous village, which was completely destroyed on 10 June 1942 on orders from Adolf Hitler and acting Reichsprotektor Kurt Daluege in reprisal for the assassination of Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich.

The Memorial to the Children Victims of the War is a bronze sculpture by Marie Uchytilová in Lidice, Czech Republic. It commemorates a group of 82 children of Lidice who were gassed at in the summer of 1942 during the Second World War as a part of the Lidice massacre.
