Kovk

Kovk is a dispersed settlement on the edge of a karst plateau north of in the Littoral region of . Together with the ridge-top villages of , , and , it is part of an area locally known as Gora.

Castra ad Fluvium Frigidum, also simply Castra, referred to as mutatio Castra in Itinerarium Burdigalense, was a Late-Roman fortress which constituted the centre of Claustra Alpium Iuliarum, an Ancient Roman defensive system of walls and towers stretching from the Gail Valley to the mountain range. is situated 3½ km southwest of Kovk.
