Vjetrenica is the largest cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the most biodiverse cave in the world. It is part of the Dinaric Alps mountain range, which is known for its karstic and speleological features. Vjetrenica Cave is situated 2½ km northeast of Golubinac.

It is only a few kilometers away from the border with Croatia on the road from the Adriatic coast to Popovo polje. Orahov Do is situated 3 km west of Golubinac.
