New Älvsborg, so-called to distinguish it from the earlier fortress at Old Älvsborg, is a sea fort on the island of Kyrkogårdsholmen within the urban area of modern Gothenburg, Sweden. New Elfsborg Fortress is situated 3½ km north of Lilla Jonsholmen.

It is located in the south western part of the city, and is the smallest of the boroughs with a population of 12,855 on 3.72 square kilometres, although the term Frölunda generally is used for a much wider area covering almost all the city's western suburbs. Västra Frölunda is situated 4½ km east of Lilla Jonsholmen.
