Blarney Castle

Blarney Castle is a medieval stronghold in Blarney, a town in Cork, Ireland. Though earlier fortifications were built on the same spot, the current keep was built by the MacCarthy of Muskerry dynasty, a cadet branch of the Kings of Desmond, and dates from 1446.

Blarney Woollen Mills was built in 1823. It was used mainly for spinning and weaving wool. The mill briefly closed for two years between 1973 and 1975, after which it was re-opened as an Irish heritage shop.

Blarney is a village in County Cork, nowadays incorporated into the nearby city of Cork. It's been on the tourist circuit for almost 300 years thanks to its castle and Blarney Stone. It's also a commuter town for Cork, with a population in 2016 of 2539.

Carrigrohane is a village and civil parish situated on the south bank of the River Lee to the west of the city of Cork in Ireland. It is connected by the Carrigrohane Straight, 4 miles west of Cork and is also in the northeastern part of Ballincollig. Carrigrohane is situated 4 km south of Gothic Bridge.
