The Augustineum Secondary School, established in 1866, is among the oldest schools in Namibia. Originally situated in Otjimbingwe, it was relocated to Okahandja in 1890, and finally to Windhoek in 1968.

Windhoek Central Hospital is a public hospital in Windhoek, Namibia. Together with the Katutura State Hospital, it is one of two State Hospitals in the city. The hospital was commissioned in 1982, and opened in 1984.

Sam Nujoma Stadium, built in 2005, is located within Katutura. Katutura is situated 3½ km north of Khomasdal.
