Bolafjall is a 638 meter high mountain in the vicinity of Bolungarvík. A road was built to the top in 1986. In 2002 it was opened to civilian traffic. In 2022, an observation deck with a view over the Ísafjarðardjúp was opened on the mountain. Bolafjall is situated 4 km north of Bolungarvíkurkaupstaður.

Bolungarvík is a small town and the only built-up area in the municipality of Bolungarvíkurkaupstaður in the northwest of Iceland, located on the Westfjords peninsula, approximately 14 km from the town of Ísafjörður and 473 km from the capital city Reykjavík. Bolungarvik is situated 4 km east of Bolungarvíkurkaupstaður.
